280 guests, a historic location, a clear start: The ENGEL & VÖLKERS New Year's reception took place at the Metropol Berlin. Where there are usually live acts, dancing and partying, on this evening there was eating - a dinner in the hall and on the terraces in a building that is more than a hundred years old.

 

Dishes were prepared live at several stations - including leg of ox, roasted pink, with smoked oven-baked pumpkin, port wine jus and lamb's lettuce. Or country chicken, succulent and tender, with creamed peas, sugar snap peas and cream sauce. We served the pike-perch with sweet and sour alpine lentils, mashed potatoes and Riesling sauce. For vegetarian options, there were two variations of creamy mashed potatoes: porcini with porcini cream, parmesan sauce, panko crunch and fresh mushrooms or Garden All Stars with parsley emulsion, smoked salsa, furikake and garden cress.

 

For dessert, we presented our Nitro Snowball - a coconut mousse frozen with liquid nitrogen, served with cinnamon plums and crispy coconut macaroons. Our Lemon Pepper Balls from the vendor's tray were another highlight - sweet, peppery and surprising.
