The guests on the stage, the orchestra above the tiers - at the Komische Oper opera ball, everything was upside down. 350 guests took their seats where there is usually singing. Under the motto “Dazzling Night”, the Schillertheater was transformed into a stage for an evening full of music, staging and culinary delights.
After the champagne reception, the seated dinner began - accompanied by live performances between courses. The prelude: confit char with rutabaga, carrot and fine veal sauce with lemon fillets. This was followed by pink boiled veal with “Gris Soß” veloutée, spinach cream and pommes grenaille. The dessert buffet on the side stage formed the sweet finale: “Death by Chocolate”, carrot cake with golden walnut and Berliner Luft with raspberry and meringue espuma.
Afterwards, the guests danced to the orchestra on a side stage and continued the party in the foyer at a late hour - with cocktails, antipasti and midnight cheese.
